Elementum Energy Completes the Second Phase of the Dnistrovska Wind Farm
Amid preparations for the winter, with the critical task of ensuring reliable electricity for households, communities, and businesses, we are proud to highlight a significant achievement.
With great pride and joy, we announce the successful operation of the second phase of the Dnistrovska Wind Farm, boasting a capacity of 60 MW. This addition brings the total capacity of the wind farm to 100 MW.
These state-of-the-art wind turbines were constructed during the full-scale invasion, overcoming numerous risks, obstacles, exceptionally high costs, and unprecedented challenges. This project is a testament to the fact that nothing is impossible for those committed to their cause, striving for victory, and contributing to it with a deep understanding of the critical role of energy.
The success of this project would not have been possible without our partners. Most importantly, we are deeply grateful to the incredible Elementum Energy team for achieving the impossible — bringing light to over 175,000 people when it is needed most.
“The full-scale invasion struck the Elementum Energy team in the midst of constructing a 60 MW wind farm. Within just four months, 11 magnificent turbines were set to power at least 59,000 households in southern Ukraine. However, the threat of invasion and the events of February 24 disrupted our plans: for six long months, construction was halted as we desperately worked to bring back evacuated contractors, retrieve specialized tools for assembling innovative turbines, and renegotiate agreements in an entirely new reality — one in which such projects had never been undertaken.
In September 2022, we resumed construction. By the second quarter of 2023, the first turbines entered commercial operation. Without exaggeration, this was one of the most ambitious and high-risk projects for all of us. Yet, we never doubted its importance, necessity, or value. Even before the large-scale attacks on energy infrastructure began, we understood that resilient energy systems are a cornerstone of a nation's economic stability and development.
This project is our tribute to Ukrainian resilience, determination, and perseverance. We thank each member of our incredible team and our partners who made it possible for the Dnistrovska Wind Farm to connect to Ukraine's energy grid and generate hundreds of megawatts of clean energy daily,” commented Olga Rybachuk, Managing Director of Elementum Energy.
We plan to gradually share more about this large-scale project and the people who made it possible. By sharing our experience, drawing conclusions, and celebrating achievements, we aim to conquer new peaks and showcase Ukraine’s investment potential.
Note: The electricity consumption calculations are based on an average household usage of 300 kWh per month.
