Elementum Energy Among the First in Ukraine to Test a Commercial Model for Electricity Sales
Elementum Energy has become one of the first companies in Ukraine to adopt a commercial electricity sales model, adapting its business strategy to effectively manage market risks.
"By leveraging the option to voluntarily suspend sales under the 'green' tariff without losing the ability to return to it, we took a risk. A risk that has positioned us as leaders in the renewable energy sector, pioneering a strong commercial function in electricity trading. We continue to blaze the trail in this direction and are committed to sharing our experience across all possible platforms to bolster Ukraine’s energy resilience," said Olga Rybachuk, Managing Director of Elementum Energy.
Background Information: In 2022, legislative changes allowed renewable energy producers operating under the "green" tariff to voluntarily suspend such sales and independently seek opportunities to sell electricity on the market. The earliest opportunity to suspend sales became available on June 1, 2023, as the necessary updates to secondary regulations and a detailed procedure for suspending power purchase agreements under the "green" tariff were only finalized in the spring of 2023.
